your ready to make the biggest changes in your life. At some point you're tired of letting life happen to you, you’re ready to take control. But, it’s not you that’s in control. It’s God. His plan. His way. Or at least until you’ve had enough of trying to force things to happen of your own accord.
I had to learn, the hard way. Contradicting I know. Especially when Jesus constantly reminds us that His yoke is the only way to peace.
MY problem was instead of resting, I was rushing...everything in my life felt urgent and forced. I never took a moment to pause and listen for His still, gentle voice.
We shift to distractions that pull us further down the rabbit hole of the world. We become weary, bogged down, and drained. I realized even though I was tired and broken down, I was truly burning myself out because of choices I didn’t leave to God. I made wrong moves, I made rushed decisions, and I tried to skate by to take the easy way out.
Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
So I tried isolating myself and was left scrambling and frazzled in the mess I’d made. Deep down, I knew I was being disobedient to what He’d called me to do. When laziness starts to suck the motivation out of everything, shifting our focus back to Jesus is the first line of defense. I find comfort in Jesus' unconditional love and forgiveness because He reminds me that I’m not left to pick up the pieces alone.
When the weight you're carrying becomes too heavy, my prayer for you is that you lean into Jesus and include Him in every decision, every thought, and every detail of your life.
“Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I will not stop obeying your instructions.” Psalms 119:109
